Crafting a No-Frills Digital Experience for Homegrown Coffee Brand
As Alchemist’s brand and coffee roasting business expanded to international markets like Taiwan and Japan, the ecommerce site also needed a clean, design-focused revamp. We redesigned their ecommerce experience reflecting the minimalist, industrial-chic style of their Singapore cafés.
Alchemist is now the proud owner of an award-winning Shopify Plus site, featuring bold and seamless functionality. Navigation is intuitive, encouraging users to easily explore the array of offerings, which range from various roasts and brewing methods to subscriptions. Alchemist’s site architecture mirrors the coffee-shopping journey; coffee enthusiasts can browse by roast profile, roast origin, flavour notes and other customizable preferences.
To best showcase the warm experience that coffee brings, we designed for elegance, simplicity, and bold contrasts, incorporating stunning shots that highlighted the Alchemist’s roasting attributes and other passionate details.

ShopifyEvery product page tells a rich, immersive story. Customers can explore the origin of the coffee beans, the farm, the production process, and the tasting notes, helping them form a personal connection and make informed choices. They can also personalise their coffee experience by selecting their preferred roast, weight, and grind size, making each order uniquely satisfying. To make Alchemist coffee even more accessible, we have developed a subscription module which allows customers to subscribe and have the freshest coffee delivered weekly. This means they can enjoy their favourite blends at their peak and won't run out, avoiding the hassle of reordering.
Alchemist meticulously designs every location. The location pages allow customers to step inside their stores through a curated gallery. It highlights the various aspects of the space and design that capture the essence of the Alchemist. The gallery enables users to appreciate and explore the unique features of each store’s design and atmosphere, from layout to décor, in a visually engaging way.
